Tavistock preps hundreds of acres in Lake Nona for new homes, apartments and commercial space

Tavistock Development Co. LLC’s Lake Nona Land Co. LLC is seeking Orlando City Council approvals on April 12 to create the Midtown Improvement District to build the infrastructure necessary to support up to 242 single-family homes, 1,613 multifamily units and 625,331 square feet of commercial space in the area, according to city records.

“The independent taxing district allows us to build and finance infrastructure within the community without imposing the burden on the general population of taxpayers within the city,” said Jessi Blakley, vice president of strategic communications for Tavistock.

Construction already is underway in the 388.96-acre district, which is west of Narcoossee Road, north of the southernmost boundary of Orange County, east of Lake Nona Boulevard, and south of Nemours Parkway.
