Modern hotel designed by Arquitectonica offering creative F&B in premier district with close proximity to Orlando International Airport
Tavistock Development Company, a diversified real estate firm owned by Tavistock Group, announced initial plans for its latest hotel in the fast-growing, innovative Lake Nona community in Orlando, Fla. The modern 215-room hotel, situated in the next phase of the Lake Nona Town Center, will be a full-service venue that will further establish Lake Nona as a destination for leisure travelers, business professionals and style-conscious guests. Construction is set to begin early next year.
In the heart of Lake Nona’s premier entertainment, dining and shopping district, the Town Center hotel will echo the energy of the Lake Nona Town Center with its modern, exciting and social vibe extending throughout the property. The iconic, 16-story tower, designed by renowned architecture firm Arquitectonica, boasts a sleek exterior, grand motor court entrance, sophisticated lobby, ballroom for 200, plus a vibrant rooftop pool and lounge with private event capabilities. With convenient transportation available to all guests for access throughout Lake Nona, the hotel will also offer frequent connections to the neighboring Orlando International Airport, offering easy access to Orlando’s 68 million visitors annually. And a partnership with BAGS, Inc. offers guests the convenience of seamless baggage delivery to and from Lake Nona.
“The Town Center hotel will be a defining anchor within Lake Nona’s premier entertainment, dining and retail district,” said Jim Zboril, President of Tavistock Development Company. “Its iconic and thoughtful design will offer Orlando visitors a first-class location with fun and exciting amenities. With the south terminal expansion underway at the airport, we believe that this unique property will cater to airport travelers as well as those who intend to make Lake Nona their final destination.”
“We are excited to be designing this new hotel in such a community as progressive as Lake Nona,” said Bernardo Fort-Brescia, principal of Arquitectonica. “Our goal is a building whose architecture represents the aspirations of this new town: fresh, vibrant, memorable and of its place.”
Through mindful design, tailored guestrooms and suites that are thoughtfully detailed will offer effortless spaces for both work and relaxation. Efficient workspaces (sculptural console that functions as a desk) with ergonomic seating and integrated linear lighting will appeal to the sophisticated business professional, while spacious rooms with unique bathrooms and dressing areas will offer a first-class experience for all hotel guests.
The hotel features more than 6,000 square feet of meeting space, that includes a 3,200-square- foot ballroom, executive boardroom and two smaller meeting rooms. In addition, the hotel with its ground floor retail will be situated next to The Lawn, a large, multi-purpose, open-air green space and gathering spot within the Lake Nona Town Center.
Situated within Lake Nona, the world’s most sophisticated wellness community as noted by the Global Wellness Institute, the hotel’s design and offerings are complementary with the community’s forward-thinking wellbeing initiatives. The 24-hour gym features first-class equipment and on-demand fitness by Lake Nona partner Technogym, who recently aligned with Lake Nona to create the first seamlessly connected fitness ecosystem in the U.S. Hotel guests will have access to Lake Nona’s fiber network providing internet at speeds approximately 200x the U.S. average.
In addition to the hotel’s 80-seat restaurant and rooftop bar & lounge, hotel guests will find themselves immersed into the social center of the Lake Nona neighborhood with dozens of shops, restaurants and entertainment venues just steps away.
The Lake Nona Town Center is a 100-acre anchor and regional destination for the large-scale, master-designed Lake Nona community and the greater Orlando region. At full build out, the Town Center will feature more than 3.8 million square feet. Its first phase opened in January 2016 with an 85,000-square-foot office building, two award-winning hotels (a Marriott Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott), 16,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space and a multi-level parking structure. The five-story, central parking structure features two visual and interactive landmarks, the six-story Beacon and the Code Wall.
The open-air project will be accessed by the region’s most efficient and robust transportation infrastructure including three interchanges off SR-417, Orlando’s eastern beltway serving residential communities and Walt Disney World. Super-regional transportation includes Orlando International Airport and the planned All Aboard Florida high-speed train, both located adjacent to Lake Nona.
Owned by international private investment organization Tavistock Group, Lake Nona is an innovative, master-designed community by Tavistock Development Company in Orlando, Fla. One of the country’s fastest-growing communities with more than 12,000 residents and more than 10 million square feet of residential and commercial facilities, Lake Nona’s corporate pipeline includes major regional projects including KPMG’s $400-million training and innovation center and the newly announced Amazon high-tech fulfillment center, both of which continue to position Lake Nona as one of the state’s largest economic engines with business clusters committed to advancing developments in the areas of sport and human performance, health and wellbeing, education and technology.
