Dan Young is vice president of infrastructure at Tavistock Development Company, where he leads the planning, budgeting and delivery of critical infrastructure systems that support the company’s visionary master-planned communities, including Lake Nona and Sunbridge. With more than two decades of experience across land development, urban planning and civil infrastructure, Dan brings both strategic foresight and hands-on expertise to every phase of project execution.
At Tavistock, Dan manages infrastructure projects spanning over 38,000 acres within two of Central Florida’s most influential developments. He oversees master-development budgets, coordinates the delivery of residential lots and commercial sites, and leads the design and permitting of major utility systems, including new water and wastewater treatment facilities. Additionally, he collaborates with agencies, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects move forward smoothly, meet regulations, and remain viable over the long term.
Before joining Tavistock, Dan held senior development and planning roles at AV Homes, Stantec and UMA Engineering, where he worked across the United States and Canada to lead large-scale community development, entitlements and public engagement. He has also managed amenity center construction, golf club operations and HOA oversight, giving him a unique perspective on the infrastructure and lifestyle aspects of community building.
Dan holds a master’s degree in business administration from Lake Superior State University and a bachelor’s degree in urban planning from the University of Windsor. He is also a certified NPDES inspector and has completed professional leadership, communication and customer-centered engineering training.
