As general counsel and senior vice president of Tavistock U.S., Michelle Rencoret leads the legal strategy for Tavistock’s US businesses and its diverse real estate portfolio, including the large-scale master planned community of Lake Nona, Sunbridge in Central Florida and Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Since joining Tavistock in 2009, Michelle has been responsible for managing the company’s legal interests in the areas of real estate, construction, litigation, corporate finance, trademarks, employment law and risk management. With over 25 years’ experience, she is instrumental in negotiating transactions, managing the legal aspects of all new development and construction and overseeing the legal matters for all the companies operating assets. She is a dedicated mentor who champions professional growth and cultivates a vibrant, high-performing culture on her team.
In addition to her legal leadership, Michelle serves as the chair of Tavistock’s Volunteer and Employee Engagement Committee, spearheading initiatives that have helped secure philanthropic support for charities such as Ronald McDonald House Charities, American Diabetes Association, Best Buddies, and more. Her personal philanthropic passion is for animal welfare and is reflected in advocacy for changing laws focused on animal protection, as well as supporting organizations like Best Friends Animal Society and several local rescues.
Michelle graduated from the University of Texas School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado Boulder. Before joining Tavistock, she was a partner at a real estate firm handling real estate transactions, development, and finance for publicly traded companies and real estate investment trusts.
