Boston Commercial Wharf Pier

Tavistock’s Boston Waterfront project is a complex redevelopment plan for the North End of Boston on the Commercial Wharf Pier. Proposed plans entail the redevelopment of an existing restaurant site and enhanced public spaces and walkways allowing connectivity to the historic Christopher Columbus Park and the Commercial Wharf.

One of the proposed buildings would replace the existing Joe’s American Bar & Grill building (Lot 8), another other would replace the existing partly burned building (Lots 6 & 7). Current plans do not include making any changes to the existing Boston Yacht Haven Inn & Marina (Lot 1).

A highlight of the proposed redevelopment includes a new, pedestrian Harborwalk that would extend the full length of the pier and provide the public with enhanced access to the waterway and provide additional protections against flooding.

While our ambitions are bold and our plans creative, we are developing concepts that are within the City’s approved building guidelines. These guidelines dictate important building requirements in terms of height and permitted uses and prioritize those uses so that new development enhances the public’s access and opportunities along Boston’s waterfront.
